Infant Care

Babies change significantly during their first year.  Baby's spine will grow 50% during this time.  Our brains and nervous system develop up to 65% during our first year.  That is why it is important to ensure that infants are free of nerve interference and have appropriate cranial development.

A study of over 1500 babies conducted over 8 years by Dr. Viola Frymann, DO demonstrated:

  • 10% of newborn babies had perfect, freely mobile skulls or cranial movements.

  • 10% of newborns had severe trauma to the head, evident to even untrained observers.

  • 80% of newborns had some strain patterns in cranial movements

If left uncorrected, a baby's growth and development can be negatively impacted, and can lead to reduced function.

FAQ

Is it safe for my baby?

Chiropractic care is extremely safe for babies.  Chiropractic adjustments performed on infants are different than those performed on adults.  They are gentle and most babies respond positively to the process.  The pressure we use is less than the pressure that would take to bruise a ripe tomato, less then 10% of the pressure a doctor might need to use during the birth process.
